J. Pat Bartlett, #233 expert, began racing in 2003 with a Frankenbike SRAD GSX-R750. It was a combination of many parts put together to make a decent race machine that would at least scoot from the grid to the checkered flag. After racing a few weekends on the GSX-R, Pat started breathing 2 stroke exhaust and seeing 2 strokes fly through corners at insane speeds. These lightweight machines truly appealed to the pure racer in him, something came over him! Combined with not liking 50+ novice bike grids and pile-ups in first lap meleés, Pat decided to buy a GP racing machine.

Everything since then is history..... the GSXR was sold and Pat is the happy pilot of a 2smoke GP bike. Even though he had never ridden a 2 stroke road machine, let alone performed any mechanical work on one, he dived into the madness that is GP 2- stroke tuning and riding.

Andy Young , #93 expert, who has ridden and raced dirtbikes and ATV's since a young age, purchased a 1999 Suzuki GSX-R600 machine in 2003 and sought to begin racing in 2004. After completing the CornerSpeed race school in April 2004 and obtaining his race license, Andy started his road to racetrack addiction.... welcome to the amateur 600cc class -- a.k.a. the meatgrinder. Halfway through the 2004 season, the carbed '99 model was sold and a fuel-injected 2001 model Suzuki GSX-R600 machine was bought. Then in 2005 Andy found a great deal on a 2004 Honda CBR1000RR and bought it, and sold the GSX-R shortly after. He currently races in the Unlimited classes made especially for these liter-motor beasts. Email Andy at andy AT tacticalracing DOT com
