July 23-24: Roebling Road

Got on the road late
as hell due to a flat on Dave's trailer, and traffic on the NJ
pike...Finally left my house @ 8:30 pm... Arrived @ the track about
5:30 am and they didn't open gates until 7 am so we sat there.
Friday practice: First impression...Roebling SUCKS ASS... If you think
summit has sealer on it... It doesn't even come close to this Shit
hole...All I could muster was a 1:26 all day...I just couldn't get
comfortable with the place...lotsa grip though if you knew where to
go...DAMN that place is HARD on tires...
Sat...HW SB:
First of all MAD PROPS to SANEE & Nicole for putting us up for the
wk-end!!!
Single wave start Ex/ Am combined...with about a 100 yard gap between
us... The flagman was so small you had to strain to see his
ass...not to mention they were on the ground instead of the tower...I
about did a 12 o' clock on the start but feathered the clutch and wheelied
past 4 or 5 guys going into T1...Cyron & sanee checked out on me and I
did my best of a 1:25...Finished 8th...I was lucky to do that considering
how I felt all day due to that Ga heat...96 Degrees 90% Humidity and a
heat index of 114 Degrees...
Sat around talking shit about sundays whoopin that I was going to break
out and everyone was like yeah whatever... I told Cyron he would not
beat me on sunday...And that the gloves were coming off...GAME ON...!!!!!
Sunday...HW SB:
Talked to Quick about launch RPM that morning and figured I would try it
since my usual didn't work...Well I tried it and raile past everyone
except the front 4 guys and SANEE was not one of them... Cyron was
in front of me though...DAMMIT...
He was alot faster than me all wk-end and I knew it was going to be a tough battle from the start... The whole group was fairly tight till about lap 3 and the top 6 of us checked out...I had a nice 3 way battle between Sanee, Cyron & myself for about 2 laps and Sanee decided to check out...That left Cyron and myself to battle it out for the last wood...I could pull up to about his pegs on the front straight but that was all I could muster...I was getting more pissed off by the second...He would get away in T1 but after that I was on him like white on rice in turns 2 thru 9 but, couldn't make the pass...I did this for 3 laps...Imagine my frustration at this point... On the last lap I just pinned it going into T8 and layed back until we went into T9 and I gave him a wheel right @ the apex and he had to go wider than usual and I motored on by for the WOOD... And I managed to get into the low 23's...
That was by far
the best race of the year I have had so far...!!! Cyron is the guy I have
been battling in the points with all year...He is still ahead of me but I
got a couple back in this one...!!!
I still hate the place and won't be going back...EVER...
