July 24-25: Summit Point, CCS

Left Friday afternoon about 4pm...Arrived @ the track about 7:45 or so, not bad for a 2hr & 15 min trip... (Holiday travelers really loused up the drive)... Got all set up with the help of (JEFF) Bmanns friend...Thanks dude...Wrapped things up and headed to Team SKS Racings pad for some shut eye...Thanks for the hospitality Scott & Family...

Sat Practice #1:

I was feeling a bit groggy when I got to the track and a lil upset that I had to use my Dot's for practice instead of slicks that I was going to run for race #2... Anywho, hit the track and things started to feel pretty good for it being 1st session...I ended up running low .26's...right where I left off from my trackday...Pretty happy about that...

Prac #2: Missed my group due to tire & gearing changes...Talked to ART @ Pit Out and he said I could have 4 laps...I said thanks and was on my way...Wicked it open on pit out & almost pulled a BMF Stunt...(Ice Cold Slicks)... Recomposed myself and busted out my (4) laps...Checked times and was surprised to see .24's... (Baby Steps)...Met my wk-end goal for time...

Race #2 GTO:

Gridded 1 B...Man I was pumped up about this wk-end...Well as always... I jacked up my 1st start so bad that I was LAST into T1...Nice 12 O' Clock I did...Not once but 2x...
(Too bad Bmann didn't film it)...Fought my ass off reeling this guy on a R1 back in the whole race...I was doing it but it was taking a while...Lap 14 my stock shock had got hot and gave absolutely ZERO comp making me feel like I had a flat rr tire...I pitted checked things out and went back out...Same thing...running W I D E on entry and exit with that wonderful wallowing feeling out back... Finished the lap barely being able to stay upright...Came back around and call it quits before I pulled a WIZO... Talked to John @ CTR about my problem and he confirmed what I thought the problem was... Finished last and much to my surprise I ripped off quite a few mid .22's at the later stages of the race 1.2 sec off of BMF's pace...Goals have definitely been exceeded...

Sun Practice:

Things went the same as Saturday...rolled out some 23's and 22's...Only did 4 laps of the 15 min session...Had to save tires for later...

ULGP Qualifying:

This was my 1st time being pressured for time as a grid position...I had Arnie Hastings and BMF as my rabbits... I went out and gave it everything I had for 4 good laps... keeping Arnie & BMF within 2 to 3 bike lengths the whole time... At least I felt they were good ones...When I got around to checking qualifying times I was ready to throw a party right there...I made it in with a smoking .21.7...Never had I even imagined I would break into the .21's this wk-end...I went to timing & scoring to see if I had put together more than one flyer and I had put together 3 High .21's in the 4 laps I was out there...

Race #2 ULSS:

Gridded Row 2, Showed BMF what MX skills will do for your starts on this one...I did ALOT better on this start... Lofted the front about 10" and just kept bangin gears till she came down...I was 5th into T1 and was doing a good job of holding my own up front till I ran a lil wide in T6 and Hastings & BMF went by on the inside... I hung with them for a few laps and my arms started to pump up...I ended up finishing 13th out of 18...Still runnin .22's & some .23's towards the end...

Race #11 ULGP:

The money race... I was gridded 5 C and BMF was 5 B...We had us one hell of a drag race to T1...BMF broke a tad later than me and opened up a 1 bike gap right @ the turn in point...Then some jackass came from the inside split BMF and I Locked it up and had me doing everything I could not to hit the clown.... I lost at least 5 positions because of that...Had a good battle with a couple of guys trying to come back thru the pack...But I had a awesome battle with Nate Kearns the last 3 laps...we almost touched coming thru T8 where he got me on the last lap and I could've got back by him but there were lappers ALL OVER T10 no available lines... I finished 11th...one spot from getting in on some loot...

RACE #13 ULSB:

I was gridded 1C right next to Arnie Hastings on the 05 Gixxer...I leaned over and told him good luck and that he was my rabbit... The flag dropped & arnie & I were GONE...didn't even hear anyone behind me... I was 2nd into T1 right on arniies tail...Did real well till just about half way and was really starting to feel the exhaustion from the hard wk-end we all had...I ended up finishing 7th...No idea of my time...someone stole the time sheet...


All in all Great fun was had by all...I met a few more people than the last outing and I had exceeded my yearly goals by such a great margin it is unreal...BMF thanks for the great racing this wk-end I had a blast battling with ya...and you did good bro...(02Telefonica...Shaun) nice to see ya again and you were looking good out there...
