Race reports

August 13-15: Barber Motorsports Park

Andy #327

The drive was pretty pain free except for thinking I-81 was quicker...  Wednesday we had a MONSOON come thru during the night...I thought the trailer was going to float away...

Thurs Practice Day: Glad the 1st session really wet...It kept the speeds really slow to let you learn the extremely difficult track...(Almost every turn was blind except for a few...) Even by the 3rd session I was having trouble in quite a few spots...It wasn't until after lunch that things started clicking... All day on a difficult track and the best I could muster was a 1:48...

Friday: I had no races but, I did practice...Times came down a lil but not much...I dropped to a 1:46...

SATURDAY:
MW SB...........I had a great Grid (4th row 1st wave) but as usual I HOSED UP the start and gave them a HUGE head start...  I ended up finishing 25th out of like 55 riders...The grids were ENORMOUS to say the least...I had a best lap of 1:45...And I held up my end of the shit talking...I beat SANEE & Cyron Green...Justin got by me though...On the last lap...

SUNDAY:
HW SB............This was EX & AM combined...I had a decent grid, 7th row 2nd wave...I got a MUCH better start this time and blasted by a 5 or 6 going into T1 when this dude tried to pinch me off right before the apex...I guess he thought I was going to let him slide on in, (He thought wrong) I did my best Ben Spies impression (Elbows...OUT)...and he backed off like a smart man... I battled with a few guys working my way past some slower riders and Lo and Behold...There was Quicktoy on this (PINK Bike)...   I was on him for about 1/2 a lap before he looked back on the front straight and seen me...  I knew he was laughing in his helmet cause I seen him shake his head (Simulating the NO movements) I never could get by him but it was fun riding his ass...He did of course race with a fractured arm so...Other than that I would've never caught the bastard...And I ran my best lap of the wk-end which was a 1:43...  I ended up finishing 15th...

here's a pic of me chasing Quick (Scott Quick), This is the pic that Quick wishes was never taken...

The facility @ Barber was awesome especially the track and the museum was also awesome...I took some pics of it and some bikes for my albums...

It was a pleasure meeting a lot of new people... It was nice to put names to faces....

Enjoy the pics... thanks to VHS Photography
